How do I use Yeti voice commands?

During an active workout, tap the Yeti button (snowflake icon) to open the Yeti Input Sheet. You can:

  • • Tap the microphone and speak naturally: "Skip bench press", "My shoulder hurts", "That was too heavy"
  • • Type in the text field for the same commands
  • • Use quick action buttons for common commands

Yeti understands 98 commands across 14 categories including exercise modifications, weight adjustments, workout structure changes, and session control. (Basic and above)

What voice commands can I give Yeti?

Yeti understands natural language for:

  • Exercise changes: "Skip bench press", "Swap this for dumbbells", "Add another set"
  • Weight adjustments: "That was too heavy", "Use 185 for bench", "Make today lighter"
  • Schedule changes: "Skip today", "Swap today with Friday", "Move workout to tomorrow"
  • Workout structure: "I only have 30 minutes", "Add cardio at the end"
  • Physical state: "My shoulder hurts", "I'm exhausted today"
  • Session control: "End workout early", "Longer rest"

What are Smart AI Features?

Smart AI Features (Pro and above) include:

AI-powered:

  • • Post-workout summaries with training intensity analysis
  • • Smart warm-ups that prepare you for each session
  • • Weekly insights summarizing your training trends

Smart features:

  • • Weight/rep suggestions based on history and RIR data
  • • Plateau detection alerts
  • • Readiness scores using HealthKit data

How do I use Yeti Chat (Beta)?

Tap the Yeti icon, then tap "Chat" to open the conversational interface. Ask questions in plain English about your training:

  • • Yeti Chat (Beta) uses 31 intelligent tools to fetch your data automatically
  • • All processing happens 100% on-device—no internet required
  • • Your conversations never leave your phone

Available on Basic and above. Nutrition tools (supplement queries) require Pro+.

What can I ask Yeti Chat (Beta)?

Yeti Chat (Beta) can answer questions about:

  • Schedule: "What's my workout today?", "Is today a rest day?", "What's tomorrow's workout?"
  • Progress: "What are my PRs?", "What's my bench max?", "How am I doing this week?"
  • History: "Did I work out yesterday?", "What did I do last time?"
  • Body & Readiness: "What's my readiness score?", "What are my measurements?", "What's my body fat?"
  • Weather: "Should I run outside today?", "What's the weather like?"
  • Nutrition (Pro+): "What supplements do I take today?", "What's my daily nutrition?"

Why isn't Yeti Chat (Beta) responding?

  • • Download the Yeti model in Settings > AI Assistant (~877MB for Yeti, ~2GB for Yeti Pro)
  • • Requires iPhone 12+ for Yeti, iPhone 14+ for Yeti Pro
  • • Need ~1GB free storage
  • • First use may take 5-10 seconds to load the model
  • • Try deleting and re-downloading the model if issues persist

How do I regenerate my plan after an injury?

Tap "Regenerate" on the Plan tab, then select "I Have an Injury". Specify:

  • • Which body part is affected
  • • Severity (mild/moderate/severe)
  • • Expected recovery duration
  • • What you can still train

The AI regenerates your plan avoiding exercises that stress the affected area. If your current week has activity, it's preserved and regeneration starts from next week. (Pro and above)

What is RIR and how do I use it?

RIR (Reps In Reserve) measures how many more reps you could have done. After each strength set, a popup asks "How many reps left?" with buttons 0-4:

  • • 0 (Failure) — Couldn't do another rep
  • • 1 (Hard) — 1 more rep possible
  • • 2 (Good) — Optimal zone, 2 more possible
  • • 3 (Easy) — 3 more reps left
  • • 4+ (Too Easy) — Time to increase weight

The AI uses this to suggest better weights. You can long-press any set to add RIR, or disable the popup in Settings.

What is mid-workout fatigue detection?

During rest periods, the app monitors your RIR values to detect fatigue patterns. If you're accumulating too much fatigue, you'll see a weight reduction suggestion:

  • • RIR 0 (failure) → 10% reduction suggested
  • • Declining pattern (3→2→1) → 5% reduction suggested
  • • Consecutive RIR 1s → 5% reduction suggested

Tap 'Apply Reduction' to automatically update all remaining sets with the suggested weight.

What happens when I skip a workout?

Skipping removes a slot from your schedule. All workouts shift forward to fill the gap. You have two options:

Absorb Rest Day (green): Adds a rest day as replacement, keeping shifts within the same week. Example: Mon→Wed→Fri→Sat.

Skip & Reschedule (orange): Standard cascade using only workout days. May push workouts into next week. Example: Mon→Wed→Fri→next Mon.

What is a deload week?

A deload week reduces volume by 40-50% to allow recovery. The AI determines when deloads are appropriate based on accumulated training stress, your age, and recovery capacity. Typically they appear every 3-4 weeks of hard training.

How do I sync with Apple Watch?

Go to Settings > Apple Watch Sync. Your workouts will be scheduled to appear on your Apple Watch. Note: Apple Watch Sync requires an Apple Watch to be paired.

If you don't have an Apple Watch, Apple Health sync still works to save your completed workouts.

How do I use the SubZero Gym Watch app?

The SubZero Gym Watch companion app (Pro and Elite) lets you track workouts from your wrist:

  1. Start a workout on your iPhone
  2. The workout appears on your Watch automatically
  3. Tap 'Start Workout' on Watch
  4. Use Digital Crown to adjust weight, +/- for reps
  5. Double-tap Done to repeat your last set

Sets sync instantly between devices. You'll also get heart rate tracking, voice announcements, and haptic feedback.

How does the Watch track my heart rate recovery?

During rest periods, the Watch monitors your heart rate and shows "Ready!" when you've recovered to Zone 2 (light effort). This helps you know when you're physiologically ready for your next set, not just when the timer expires.

Recovery detection can be disabled in iPhone Settings > Watch Features.

What's the difference between Start Workout and Log with Fitness?

'Start Workout' runs SubZero Gym's timer and optionally streams heart rate from your Watch in real-time. This is the full SubZero Gym experience.

'Log with Fitness' lets you log sets on iPhone while Apple Fitness tracks timing and heart rate on your Watch. Use this when you prefer the Fitness app's workout experience but still want detailed set logging.

Both options give you a complete workout record — just different timing sources.

Why isn't my workout syncing to Apple Health?

If workouts aren't appearing in Apple Health, check these common issues:

1. Permissions: Go to Settings > Apple Health Integration and ensure sync is enabled. Tap 'Open Health Settings' to verify SubZero Gym has write permission.

2. Workout not finished: Only completed workouts sync. Make sure you tapped 'Finish Workout' (not just closed the app).

3. Duplicate detection: Apple Health may hide duplicates. If you logged the same workout via Apple Watch, the iPhone entry might not appear separately.

4. Background refresh: Ensure Background App Refresh is enabled for SubZero Gym in iOS Settings.

If issues persist, try toggling Apple Health sync off and on in Settings.

Can I have multiple profiles?

Yes! Free/Basic: 1 profile. Pro/Pro+: up to 3 profiles. Elite/Elite+: up to 5 profiles.

Your personal details (name, age, height, weight, gender) are stored once and shared across all workout profiles. Each workout profile has its own name (e.g., "Bulking Phase"), equipment, exercises, and plans.

Important: Your workout history and weekly insights are global across all profiles. Deleting a profile won't delete your workout history. Pro+ and Elite+ users can sync across devices via iCloud.

Does SubZero Gym work offline?

Works Offline:

  • • Viewing your workout plan
  • • Logging workouts (Start Workout, Log After)
  • • Viewing workout history
  • • Calendar and progress charts
  • • Yeti AI features (after model download)
  • • Apple Watch companion app

Requires Internet:

  • • Generating new workout plans (AI generation)
  • • Regenerating plans (injury, goal change, etc.)
  • • Generating nutrition stacks
  • • iCloud sync (for Pro+/Elite users)
  • • Restoring purchases

How do I delete my data or account?

SubZero Gym offers three levels of data deletion in Settings > Data Management:

1. Clear Workout History
Deletes logged workouts and exercise performance data. Keeps your profile, plan, body composition, and photos.

2. Reset App (Keep Photos)
Deletes everything EXCEPT progress photos. You'll need to set up your profile again.

3. Delete Everything
Permanently erases ALL data including photos. Cannot be recovered.

IMPORTANT: All deletions sync to iCloud. If you have iCloud Sync enabled, deleting data removes it from ALL your devices permanently.

What happens if I miss a workout day?

No problem! Your plan continues from where you left off. Completed workouts are tracked separately from scheduled days. You can also mark rest days or skip workouts as needed.

If you enable "Missed Workout Reminder" in Settings > Workout Reminders, you'll get a friendly nudge 1 hour after your scheduled time if you haven't started yet.

How do achievements work?

SubZero Gym features 54 achievements across 9 categories:

  • • Workout Count — Complete 1 to 1,000 workouts
  • • Total Volume — Lift 10K to 10M lbs total
  • • Streaks — Maintain 2-week to 2-year workout streaks
  • • Personal Records — Achieve 1 to 100 PRs
  • • Consistency — Hit workout completion targets
  • • Special/Hidden — Complete hidden challenges (Early Bird, Night Owl, etc.)

Achievements are GLOBAL — they persist across all profiles and are never deleted.

How do I track my nutrition intake?

SubZero Gym automatically syncs nutrition data from any HealthKit-connected app (Pro+ and above):

  1. Log your meals in MyFitnessPal, Cronometer, MacroFactor, Lose It!, Noom, or any app that writes to Apple Health
  2. Your data appears automatically in SubZero Gym's Calendar, Progress Tab, and Supplement Stack
  3. Hit your goals to earn achievement badges (Calories on target, Protein goal crushed, etc.)

Targets are based on your Primary Profile's AI-generated nutrition guidelines.
